Spiderweb
A lace doily stretched from branch to branch, across the back of a chair. Pristine, each. Spider out doing errands. Run now or wait for the main event, some do. She started her web if he wanted his own pie, video, bed, George. He, other he, pecked by a hen. That beak, hers, went deep into his stringy hide. Lots of blood drawn those. Took her to the beach to walk away. Buried her in sand. Up to her head. Might throw rocks. Nails clawing, screeching air. Forget it.
